Sales Manager - Precision Sensors

Job Description


The sales manager is responsible for profitably increasing sales of MicroSense precision capacitive sensors and metrology subsystems in a specific global geographic territory, working with distributors in the territory and in some cases directly with larger OEM accounts. Duties include:


• Complete responsibility for managing distributor and direct sales in the territory.
• Set up and manage new distributors in key territories, and manage and evaluate existing distributors.
• Provide and coordinate technical support within the company for the distributors on new sales opportunities.
• Generate annual bookings/revenue forecast and operating plan for territory. Achieve quarterly bookings/revenue plan.
• Identify and target new applications for our precision capacitive sensors.
• Generate quotations.
• Provide training to distributors.
• Participate in key trade shows within the territory, either with the distributor or directly.


Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (BS) engineering or physics, or track record of selling complex technical products. Having a background as an applications engineer is a good qualification; you must be able to understand how the customer intends to use our sensors in their system or equipment, and then recommend the correct sensor to meet their requirements.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to do technical presentations for customers, with energy and enthusiasm, and have the ability to think on your feet during technical discussions with customers.
• Willingness to travel 35% up to 50%, with the focus on Asia. Prior international travel experience is required. Must have valid passport.

 
Preferred skills/experience
• Prior experience selecting and managing international distributors.
• Experience in precision product and sub-system technical sales to equipment OEM’s making products like semiconductor lithography or wafer inspection systems, solar wafer inspection equipment, precision nanopositioning stages or hard disk drive motor test equipment or similar is a plus. Past experience selling electronic components (ICs, power supplies, etc.) is not a good qualification for this particular position.
